FOR THE BEST RESULTS:
This recipe is ready in 2 minutes, but tastes BEST when all the dried spices have had a chance to open up a bit. I find that it tastes best on the second day or at least a couple hours after you have made it.
If your cream cheese dip comes out too thick, here are a couple ways to make it more creamy:
- Add in a tablespoon or two of heavy cream. Start by adding in 1-2 and mixing well. A little goes a long way.
- If you don't have heavy cream, add in 2-3 tablespoons of sour cream. Again, add in the sour cream, mix and add in more if it is still thick.
- If neither of the above suggestions help, let the dip come a little closer to room temperature. It may simply be too cold.
SUBSTITUTION AND ALTERNATE FLAVOR IDEAS:
If you're looking for some alternate herb choices, here's a quick list to make your own personalized Cream Cheese Dip:
- For people who love heat, add in 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes.
- For more depth of flavor, add in 1/4 teaspoon smoked Hungarian paprika.
- Want more brightness: add in a squeeze of lime.
HOW TO SERVE AND STORE:
- This cheese dip recipe is great to serve with sliced vegetables, but it doesn't need to be relegated to this kind of boredom. Spice it up a bit with pork rinds for a fantastic low carb snack. Want an even better idea? Add some chile powder to the pork rinds and then scoop up some dip.
- If you're not doing the low carb or keto way of eating, serve with some chickpea chips for a crunchy, gluten free option.
- For storage purposes, this needs to be refrigerated. As far as longevity is concerned, I've eaten this dip up to about a week after I've made it... if it lasts that long.
