The cream cheese used in this recipe is also low carb; to know "is cream cheese low carb", check out the in-depth details on the carb content and nutritional value.
This recipe is incredibly low-carb, with less than 2 g net carbs per serving. The negligible carb count makes it one of the best keto dips with cream cheese. You can enjoy it with various veggies or foods without worrying about a significant carb spike.
Low-Carb Cream Cheese Dip Ingredient List
My delicious cheese dip recipe calls for simple pantry staples:
- 10 ounces cream cheese
- 2 teaspoons dried chives
- ½ teaspoon dried parsley
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- ¼ teaspoon granulated garlic
- ¼ teaspoon granulated onion
- fresh cracked black pepper
Ingredient Substitutions
The easy cream cheese dip will still turn out great with these ingredient substitutions:
- Cream cheese: Try Neufchatel cheese, which is similar to cream cheese.
- Granulated garlic: Definitely try some of my roasted garlic for a fantastic earthy flavor. Add a bit of minced garlic if you like the punch of raw garlic.
- Granulated onion: Replace with less onion powder or dried minced onion.
- Dried parsley: Use fresh parsley (double the amount), dried basil, or even dried dill.
- Dried chives: Use double the amount of fresh chives and about the same amount of minced green onion or dried cilantro.
Additional Ingredients
You will end up with one of the most delicious keto dip recipes if you use any of these wonderful additions:
- Fresh herbs: This recipe loves fresh herbs. Fresh parsley, oregano, cilantro, basil, chives, or thyme works great.
- Heat: I love adding a bit of heat (as I do with most recipes). For this one, however, I do not mix it in, as the cream cheese turns kind of pink from the cayenne, pepper flakes, chipotle, or hot paprika. Instead, I dust the top. This way, people who avoid spice can wait until the top layer is gone.
Note: These ingredients are optional and not part of the recipe. Use them only to boost the low-carb dip's flavors.
Preparation Tools
You only need three tools to make this delicious keto dip for veggies:

💡 My Pro Tip
For The Best Results
This recipe is ready in 2 minutes, but it tastes best when all the dried spices have had a chance to open up a bit. I find that it tastes best on the second day or at least a couple of hours after you have made it.
If your cream cheese dip comes out too thick, here are a few ways to make it more creamy:
- Add in a tablespoon or two of heavy cream. Start by adding in 1-2 tablespoons and mixing well. A little goes a long way.
- If you don't have heavy cream, add 2-3 tablespoons of sour cream. Again, add the sour cream, mix, and add more if it is still thick.
- If neither of the above suggestions helps, let the dip come closer to room temperature. It may simply be too cold.
⏲️ Time-Saving Tips
- Soft cream cheese is the easiest to use. Leaving it on the counter for a while speeds up the mixing process.
- Make ahead so the flavors can meld together. This gives the dip the time it needs to explode with flavor.

I don't know where you are getting your nutrition information, but 10 oz of cream cheese doesn't have 1860 calories. 8 oz is 720 calories, so the correct calorie count should be 900 calories for 10 oz, or 45 or so calories per serving for this (assuming 20 servings).
this is a good idea, except that its pretty stiff, and not as pliant as your usual dips.
Any suggestions about that?
It's only stiff when chilled. Add some sour cream to make it easier to dip.
Made this mostly as directed, omitted chives and black pepper, added 1/8 tsp ground red pepper, 1/4 tsp paprika, squeeze of lime, and drizzle of cream till desired consistency. This is awesome!
Super delicious! Loved it!
